8 Less Than 1,000 Spins Albums
A selection of records with songs featured on Less Than 1,000 Spins.
Less Than 1,000 Spins is a Micro-Chop side project, Spotify and YouTube playlist, daily newsletter, and a place to find great songs with less than 1,000 spins. You can support the project by sharing the newsletter, the playlists, and/or music from the playlists with other people.
I’m switching it up a bit today. Instead of focusing on one song from Less Than 1,000 Spins I’ve compiled eight albums with songs featured on the playlist. I want to give people the space and time to enjoy the entirety of these works in addition to selected songs.
Here you’ll find a lost Gamble & Huff production (Oh My God), a unique instrumental hip-hop record comprised of sketches, outlines, and raw loops (Arts & Craft), a beautiful blend of strings and soul from Aretha Franklin’s lesser-known but very talented sister Carolyn (I’d Rather Be Lonely), a stunning private press record that mixes folk, psychedelic, and rock elements (Our Times), and much more.
I hope you have the opportunity to sit with at least one of these projects. If you do please let me know what you think.
